The TD Garden concert with proceeds benefitting the One Fund has sold out.
Boston Strong: An Evening of Support & Celebration
It has been announced that TD Garden, in partnership with Live Nation will play host in the Boston Strong benefit show. This historic event will raise significant funding and awareness for The One Fund Boston.
"I am rarely speechless, but today I'm searching for words," said Donnie Wahlberg as he spoke at the official press conference for the Boston Strong benefit concert.
Donnie got the ball rolling on this event when he placed a call to his manager, Jared Paul, expresing how NKOTB wanting to do something for their home town who was suffering from the horrific events on Marathon Monday, effecting the lives of all Bostonians.
In the wake of tragedy several individuals came together to create 'Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration' a concert that will feature: Aerosmith, Jason Aldean, Boston, Jimmy Buffet, Dane Cook, Extreme, J Geils Band, Godsmack, Carole King, New Kids On The Block, James Taylor, Steven Wright and special guests.
The event will be taking place on May 30 at 7:00pm at the TD Garden and net proceeds will flow directly to The One Fund Boston.
“Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families,” said Donnie Wahlberg, New Kids on the Block. “Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well.”
Manager of NKOTB, Jared Paul alongside Don law and Dave Martson of Live Nation took initiative in setting up this one of a kind event.
"This event will serve several purposes," said Paul, "It will raise much needed money, show respect and recognition to all the first responders, is a celebration of Boston and will unite this town."
Don Law of Live Nation stated that he did not even have to reach out to ceratin people, those indivudals reached out to him wanting to be a part of this, including James Taylor.
“The One Fund event at the Garden this May 30th is destined to be a true Boston landmark. From the promoters to the sound & lights, to the performers and the Garden staff; everyone involved has responded from the heart in a spontaneous and simultaneous desire to be there, and to do what we can for the city we love. I am honored to be a part of it, and…I can’t wait” said James Taylor.
Tickets are priced from $35 to $285. Prices include all fees and service charges. Information on special sponsor tickets which will include commemorative items, reserved parking, and other items will be available on www.ticketmaster.com andwww.livenation.com/vip.
The tickets to this event will be paperless to reduce activity on the secondary market to insure that all money will go to The One Fund.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, May 6 at 10:00 AM. Fans can purchase tickets atwww.livenation.com, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000 or at TD Garden Box Office. In an effort to make sure all net proceeds from ticket sales go directly to The One Fund, all tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster’s paperless ticket delivery.
