Tom Brady, Cam Newton In Tight Race For NFL’s Top-Selling Jersey

It’s still all about the Patriots, heading into the 2020 NFL season, as former QB Tom Brady and newly-anointed captain Cam Newton are already in a head-to-head battle… for top-selling jersey.

Licensed sports merchandise retailer Fanatics revealed on Thursday that the two quarterbacks are battling for the top spot during kickoff week, and the race for highest sales has never been closer. At the time of the announcement, Brady had only outsold Newton by less than 50 jerseys between Sunday, September 6 and Thursday, September 10 between Fanatics and NFL Shop.

The news shouldn’t be all that surprising, with both veteran quarterbacks helming new teams. Still, many football fans would have probably expected to see young stars Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson in higher contention for the top spot.
