The Oscars yesterday, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, handed out seven awards to the movie Gravity, with 12 Years A Slave getting "Best Picture".
Jared Leto won the award for "Best Supporting Actor" for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. During the speech, his topics ranged from thanking his mother for her role in his life, to the dedication of the Oscar to those affected by AIDS.
Lupita Nyong'o won the award for "Best Supporting Actress" for her portrayal of Patsy in the film 12 Years A Slave.
Cate Blanchett won "Best Actress" in the Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine.
Matthew McConaughey, dedicating the award to his family, won "Best Actor" for his role in the film Dallas Buyers Club.
John Travolta had a minor slip-up when announcing the live performance of the Oscar-winning song "Let It Go" performed by Idina Menzel, when he pronounced her name: Adele Dazim.
Ellen DeGeneres, along with a list of celebrities including: Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, became the most retweeted person on Twitter with over 2 million retweets of the selfie taken during the Oscars ceremony.
