Beefed Up Security for 4th of July

The 40th annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular along the Esplanade will take place tomorrow night with lots of added security measures.  All bags will be checked upon entrance and there will be twice as many police officers as in past years.  Some items will not be allowed, including backpacks, glass containers and cans, coolers on wheels, and pre-mixed beverages.  There will be no grilling, propane tanks, or open flames allowed.  Spectators are allowed to bring pop-up tents, blankets or tarps, folding beach chairs, and small clutch purses.
