2 Arrested Following Shooting In Roxbury

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two people are in custody following a Friday shooting in Roxbury.

The incident occurred in the area of Warren Street shortly before 4 p.m.

Police found an adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The suspects in the shooting were identified as 23-year-old Dashawn Price and 18-year-old Jean Cassamajor.

According to authorities, the two jumped over a backyard fence as they were running away from the scene.

WBZ NewsRadio spoke to Boston Mayor Marty Walsh about the shooting.

“It’s senseless gun violence. None of it is ever justified, and we have to continue to be diligent on our work in reducing the violence in this city,” Walsh said. “We just have to keep at it. It’s not time for us to point fingers at each other. It’s time for us to work together as a community.”
