Braintree police have made an arrest in connection to the shots fired at South Shore Plaza Friday evening.

Braintree police said Michael Spence Jr., 23, was taken into custody in Quincy on Saturday morning.

Police say two Boston men got into an altercation Friday when one of the men opened fire. Paul Shastany, Braintree police chief, identified the individuals involved as being gang affiliates.

The South Shore Plaza was on lockdown for much of Friday night, after shots were fired inside of Macy’s.

The mall is open for business on Saturday.
