Retail chain GameStop is closing 2-3% of their video game-focused Game Stop stores, roughly 150 locations, as it shifts focus to collectibles and other technology, such as cellular phones.
The shift comes in response to a 13.6% decrease in global sales versus the previous year, fueled by weak sales of blockbuster hits over the holiday season, as well as competitors offering steep console discounts during that same period.
