Teen’s Grandpa Filled Three Journals With Their Memories and the Internet is Sobbing

Lauren Blank, a 16-year-old Texas native, has given the internet it’s latest case of the collective feels with her touching story. It’s probably the cutest thing you’ve ever seen, and it also pretty much makes every other gift look thoughtless and lesser than. Sorry, but Grandpa just dropped the mic on gifts.

Wednesday, Blank’s grandfather decided to give her a gift that he had been holding on to for years.

On the morning of her birthday, he called Blank’s mother to see if she thought the timing was right, or if he should wait until after he passed away for her to see it. They agreed that the timing was right and it would be best for them to share it together.

Later, he presented his granddaughter with three journals that he completed while documenting their every experience together from the time she was two until she turned five. “He waited so long to give it to me because he just wanted me to understand and appreciate the moments that we had together when I was little,” Blank told Buzzfeed.

“I was completely in shock and couldn’t even cry at first,” Blank said. “Then I saw my whole family was crying and I realized this was a once-in-a-lifetime gift.”

She wasn’t the only one who shed tears, Twitter was bawling right there with her:
