Adidas came under fire Tuesday after sending out an email with the subject line "Congrats, you survived the Boston Marathon!"
The email itself was an advertisement urging runners to buy Boston Marathon merchandise.
Many people were outraged by the lack of sensitivity in the subject line after the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
Adidas later released a statement:
"We are incredibly sorry. Clearly, there was no thought given to the insensitive email subject line we sent Tuesday. We deeply apologize for our mistake."
