Pete Frates, Inspiration for Ice Bucket Challenge, is ‘Resting Comfortably’

Pete Frates, former Boston College baseball player and inspiration for the Ice Bucket Challenge is receiving care at Massachusetts General Hospital. Despite numerous conflicting reports, Team FrateTrain posted to Facebook earlier, telling people that he is “resting comfortably:"

“Update on Pete - July 3rd! Pete's family wants everyone to know that Pete is resting comfortably at MGH as the Doctors, medicine, prayers and love continue to help him get stronger. Thank you for all your concern.”

Frates, 32, lives with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Earlier in the day, journalist Mike Barnicle reported that Frates had died in a since-removed Tweet. He, later, posted a correction:
