The Tampa Bay area could experience catastrophic damage, due to Hurricane Irma’s latest anticipated track.

A 2015 study by Boston company Karen Clark & Co. highlights the cities most vulnerable to storm surge flooding. Atop the list is Tampa, Florida, which could sustain $175 billion in estimated losses, according to the study.

The study suggests that, under certain tracks, a major hurricane could cause an enormous buildup of water in the bay, which would inundate areas of Tampa and St. Petersburg.

Also on the list of most-susceptible cities are Miami (#4), Fort Myers (#5) and Sarasota (#7).
