WATCH: Concord Mom Making Debut With Boston Pops After Winning Contest

Stefanie Cloutier Narrates with Boston Symphony Orchestra

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- A Concord mom is making her debut Wednesday with the Boston Pops after winning a contest to narrate part of Wednesday night's program.

Stefanie Cloutier told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Bernice Corpuz that her life-long dream is finally coming true--she'll read the classic poem "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" on stage at Symphony Hall.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so excited!" she said. "To be able to get up on that stage with that amazing orchestra behind you, and Keith Lockhart right there in front of you, and read to the whole audience? So fabulous."

She just found out she won the contest Tuesday night, after a quick audition with two other finalists.

"This is a much different stage, it's a much bigger stage and a bigger audience, so yeah, a little overwhelming," she said. "But I like being on a stage, and so being in front of all of those people and hearing the audience and getting that feedback is so cool. It's very empowering."

It's not her first time being in the spotlight--she has experience doing live performances.

"Mostly in a lot of community theater," she said. "I'm also one of the co-writers of The MOMologues."

Cloutier admits she's a little nervous, but she says years of reading the story to her kids has helped her prepare.

"It'll be a little nerve-wracking at first, and then I'll take a deep breath and just start reading as if I'm reading to my children," she said.
