West Covina police received a call about the herd around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Officers found a group of sheep and goats being led by a donkey through residential streets .
Police said that the animals “failed to comply” at first, evading capture, but were eventually captured with the assistance of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department.
The animals had found freedom through an unsecured gate on the owner’s property in a nearby community.
Thankfully, none of the animals were injured.
