BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The NHL trade deadline is Monday, but the Bruins didn't wait--they added some depth on defense Tuesday with the addition of Nick Holden.
B's shipped the Rangers minor league blue-liner Rob O'Gara and a 2018 third-round draft pick.
Boston General Manager Don Sweeney said his club's been eager to improve the left side on the back end.

So, who's Nick Holden?
Well, the 6-4, 215-pound penalty kill extraordinaire was actually drafted by Boston in the fifth round of the 2011 draft, but he never signed with the B's.
Holden played seven games early in his career for the Blue Jackets, then three seasons with the Avalanche and the last two with the Rangers.
His contract expires at the end of the year and, so far, he has three goals and nine assists.
The 30-year-old's averaged 20 minutes a game in his career, so expect him to play.
He's capable of contributing on either side and should provide the surging Bruins a boost in their chase for a Stanley Cup.
B's will visit Toronto Saturday.
