BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Bruins started slow Saturday in their would-be series clincher. They trailed 2-nothing after one, then 4-1, before falling short 4-3 to the Maple Leafs in Game 5.
Game 6 is tonight up north and Brad Marchand knows his B's have to step it up on both ends of the ice.
"We just have to be a little better defensively," Marchand said. "We can't expect to score five goals every game, so we can't be giving up four. So if we're a little bit better there, and we can continue to pepper away with the shots, hopefully it'll work in our favor."
Frederick Andersen stopped 42 shots in the Leafs' win. Tuukka Rask gave up four goals on 13 shots.
It's been an up-and-down series for the goalie with a 2-90 goals-against-average and .904 save percentage, but he'll be back in net tonight.
Boston's averaging 35 shots a game and it probably feels like they'll need to pile 'em up again to get a few by Andersen. Truth is, though, the goalie's numbers aren't flattering with an .895 save rate and 3-85 goals-against.
Bruins lead the series 3-2, but they're just 2-3-and-1 in Toronto this year. Puck drops Monday evening at 7 p.m.
