Lowell Man Accused Of Stalking Coworker, Putting GPS Device On Her Car

WOBURN (WBZ-AM) -- A Lowell man is on house arrest after being accused of stalking a female colleague and putting a GPS device on her car.

Shaun Tyman and the alleged victim worked together at Raytheon in Tewksbury — but did not know one another.

It was a neighbor who notified the woman that he noticed something weird on his surveillance cameras, which turned out to be someone allegedly trying to break into her house and attach something to the underside of her car.

Police eventually determined it was a GPS tracking device, and linked it to Tyman. She told the judge that, when she realized it was the coworker she had never spoken to, she was "terrified."

"The entire time this was going on, he was just sitting right behind me, the entire time," she said.

The device had allegedly been on the car for twelve days. Prosecutors allege Tyman was changing the battery on Monday night when he was caught.

Tyman was made to sign a restraining order demanding that he stay away from the woman's home and place of work.
