LAWRENCE, MA (WBZ-AM) — Police and the Essex County District Attorney are investigating the circumstances that left a young Haverhill girl hospitalized in a coma.
Precious Wallaces, a six grade student at the Consentino School in Haverhill is in a coma at Tufts Medical Center where she was airlifted after first being treated at Lawrence General Hospital late Friday night.
The girl was rushed to Lawrence General after police and emergency medical personnel responded to a medical call at a Lawrence home where the girl was visiting relatives.
A spokesperson for the Essex DA. says the family is cooperating with investigators.
Grief counselors were at the Consentino School Monday after school officials were notified about the girl's condition.
