Ava Max Praises Her Family On Father's Day

Ava Max might be a household name thanks to her hit song, "Sweet But Psycho," but according to the singer, success didn't happen overnight.

"It's been 10 years," Ava shares backstage with Billy. "Everyone thinks it happened overnight, and for me, it's been an over 10 year journey."

But Ava Max's success was not a solo effort. At the age of 14, Ava and her family moved to California to support her passion.

"My family really believed in me," Ava explains.

"I love to sing. There was nothing else for me. That was all I thought about, all I did in my basement growing up. All I did was sing nonstop. My parents just saw that and they were like, 'Let's do it.' But it took longer than expected."

Despite her proud Albanian heritage, the singer admits she hasn't yet visited the country.

"I have never been, believe it or not. Both my parents were born there, my brother was born there, and I was born in the states, in Wisconsin. I'm a cheesehead," Ava jokes.
