You know Kristen Bell. She is Frozen's Princess Anna, stars in a TV show called The Good Place, and other movies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall. You also know Dax Shepard. He is married to Kristen Bell, has appeared in many popular movies, and hosts popular podcast Armchair Expert. Well, the two share two young daughters Delta (4) and Lincoln (6), and the girls just found out their parents are famous and had the most hilarious/adorable reaction.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with week, the host asked Shepard if his kids understood that their parents are famous, to which Dax started off by saying, "Okay, so that is an interesting question." He went on to say, "They know that mom is Princess Anna from Frozen, they know that, they understand it. They've been to set, they've seen us work, they have seen billboards around town, and people have taken photos of us when we're out and about."
Pretty standard celeb-type stuff. Shepard goes on to explain, "BUT, I was talking with my daughter, and she said, 'Why do people listen to the podcast? Do they listen for you? Or Monica? (my co-host).' And I said, 'Well, it's 50/50.' And she said, 'Okay, but that's why they started listening?' And I go, 'Well, I think initially they started listening because they knew me, and not Monica."
Confused, his daughter asked why people knew her dad over Monica, and Dax clarified for her, "Well, because I'm famous." Then, his daughter reacted in the funniest way and exclaimed in disbelief, "YOU'RE FAMOUS?!"
Once she digested that information, she asked her father, "Does mom know?!" And Dax broke the news that Kristen is even more famous than he is. He told his daughter, "Honey, mom's more famous than dad." He continued, "And she goes, 'MOM'S FAMOUS TOO?!' And I was like, 'What is happening right now?' She understands how we're making a living, but the word 'famous' was its own thing, like at kindergarten, I guess we were all of a sudden Taylor Swift or something. Or P!nk."
And that's not all. Dax and Kristen's daughters also now think that their grandmother, who they call "Gaga" is also famous. Shepard explains that the girls and Dax's mother were watching the Golden Globes together, and when Sam Elliott (grandma's "boyfriend") talked about his A Star Is Born castmate Lady Gaga, the little ladies thought that he was talking about their grandmother. They excitedly said, "Gaga! He said your name! He's talking about you on TV!"
