Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are one of Hollywood's cutest couples. They've been together for fourteen years and have two daughters together. After all this time together, sparks are still flying for Kristen and Dax. It turns out, though, that wasn't always the case for these two. In a new interview, Kristen recalled the first time she met her now-husband. As she tells the story, it definitely was not love at first.
"I had just gotten out of a long term relationship," Kristen started the story while chatting with Sunday TODAY's Willie Geist. "The only thing that I remember is that he talked so much. I was like, ‘This guy can talk! I didn't know who he was. I was like, ‘Maybe that's one of the guys from Jackass or something?'"
Kristen said Dax also had an interesting first impression of her from that night. They were both guests at a dinner arty at Forgetting Sarah Marshall producer Shauna Robertson's house. "He remembers, ‘You were telling a really intense story about a deal you had gotten at Target,'" she said with a laugh. "And I was like, ‘That sounds like it was on brand.' And then we left. There were no sparks whatsoever."
While they didn't hit it off at the dinner party, they ran in to each other two weeks later at a Red Wings hockey game. Both actors happen to be from Detroit, which they hadn't initially realized. Their second meeting is when the sparks really started to fly. "I get a text that says, ‘Hi, my name is Dax. I violated your privacy and got your number from Shauna. How do you feel about that?'" Kristen recalled. "And I was like, ‘Excuse me? You sound stimulating."
"He's so bold and that was my kind of person," she continued. "I was like, ‘OK, starting it off with a really good joke that makes me feel, like, butterflies. I fell in love with him way before he fell in love with me," she added.
