MARBLEHEAD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) â Santaâs elves arenât the only busy workers this time of year. Volunteers at a community service non-profit on the North Shore helped wrapped Christmas gifts for children in need.
Local non-profit SPUR put on the annual Holiday Cheer Drive, where gifts were wrapped from more than 600 wish lists.
âThroughout the month of November, we go out to the community and ask people to sponsor wish lists,â SPURâS Bryan Lamoreau said.
Lamoreau helps to coordinate volunteers who come to wrap presents.
âItâs such a heartwarming project,â Lamoreau said.
He says the wish lists come from needy children and some homeless adults in the area.
âThere are four identifying pieces to it. So, thereâs something a child needs, something a child wants, something a child can wear, and something a child could read,â Lamoreau said.
