Missing Weare Resident Found Dead

WEARE, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The body of a missing Weare, New Hampshire man has been found in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Massachusetts State Police said Friday morning.

Gerard Lemay, 89, suffered from dementia and had last been seen at his home on Tuesday, February 11 around 5 a.m.

New Hampshire State Police had issued a Silver Alert for Lemay.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, Massachusetts State Police said they found Lemay's yellow Hyundai in the parking lot of Covanta Haverhill, an incineration plant on Recovery Way in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

About three hours later, they said Lemay's body had been found nearby.

Authorities said Lemay's death was not being considered suspicious.

"We are sad to report that Mr. Lemay was located deceased outsdoors, in the vicinity of his motor vehicle, earlier this morning," Massachusetts State Police Media Communications Director David Procopio said in a release. "Preliminary investigation by Massachusetts State Police and Haverhill Police has revealed no evidence of foul play."
