Farmers Keep Quiet at Auction So Young Man Can Buy Back Family Farm

According to Sunny Skyz, a man named David was determined to buy back his family’s 80-acre farm, after a distant relative inherited and, later, decided to sell it. The family, who had been farmers for decades, were floored by the loss of their land. So, David and his father saved up their money in the hope that they would, one day, buy it back.

When the land finally did go up for auction, David and his father attended, with nearly 200 other farmers present. Although David expected the worst, the collective farmers came through for his family. Despite the auctioneer’s attempts, he was only able to solicit bids from David and his father. Everyone else stayed quiet, so that these two men could get their family farm back.

"I've had two profoundly humbling days in my life," David told Holidays in Cornwall. "The first was the day my son was born. The second was that unforgettable day at the auction house."
