Patriots-Chiefs Game Postponed After Teams Report Positive COVID-19 Tests

The NFL has postponed Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, after both teams reported positive COVID-19 tests. The game will be rescheduled to Monday or Tuesday, according to a league statement.

“The New England-Kansas City game scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday will be rescheduled to Monday or Tuesday after positive COVID-19 tests on both teams,” an NFL statement said. “In consultation with infectious disease experts, both clubs are working closely with the NFL and the NFLPA to evaluate multiple close contacts, perform additional testing and monitor all developments. All decisions will be made with the health and safety of players, teams and gameday personnel as our primary consideration.”

Multiple outlets, including ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, are reporting that Patriots quarterback Cam Newton is among those players that tested positive:
