Whether it’s The Max, Luke’s, Monk’s, The Peach Pit or Arnold’s, diners have a special place in TV pop culture. That’s because there are few dining experiences more comfortable and familiar than grabbing a booth at your favorite local spot or along some unfamiliar stretch of highway on an epic road trip.
Not every diner is on the same level though and maybe, more than any other kind of dining establishment, looks can be deceiving (for better or worse)! So, the people at food and nutrition blog Eat This, Not That! teamed up with review site Yelp to find the best diner in every state.
To determine the best of the best, they created a formula that compared all the restaurants from Yelp’s Diners category based on number of reviews and star ratings.
In the end, The Little Depot Diner in Peabody took the title as the best diner in Massachusetts. Here’s what they had to say about the North Shore hot spot:
If you're in Peabody, you can't miss this charming little spot. The Little Depot Diner serves "breakfast with the blues" and Yelp reviewers are all about it. One Yelp reviewer wrote, "Set aside defunct train tracks which no longer carries trains, The Little Depot Diner harkens back to Americana with a blues theme and vibe from music to decorations."
Rounding out the rest of the New England states were Rosie’s Restaurant in Tamworth, New Hampshire, Dot’s Restaurant in Wilmington, Vermont, Palace Diner in Biddeford Maine, Norm’s Diner in Groton, Connecticut and Cindy’s Country Café in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
