FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — New England Patriots legend Tom Brady has finally called it quits for real, after a towering 23-year career. Brady won seven Super Bowls in his career — six of those with the Patriots.

Brady retired last year at this time, almost exactly to the day only to come back after just over a month of retirement. He insisted he was out of the game for real this time, in a short but teary video post on his social media.

"I'm retiring. For good...You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year," he said.

The future Hall-of-Famer started his career in 2000, eventually earning a moniker: the "Greatest of All Time." Once called the "Comeback Kid" during his time at Michigan, the quarterback was the architect of some of the greatest comeback victories in professional football. That includes an historic comeback victory against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, down 28-3 in the third quarter.

Brady is headed to the broadcast booth for Fox Sports in his post-football life.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
