JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Fire Department recovered an empty vehicle found submerged in Lake Hibiscus at Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain Monday afternoon.

In a tweet, Boston FD said it responded to a report of a car in the lake at around 4:40 p.m.

The fire department's dive team inspected the vehicle and did a grid search of the area with no findings. A tow wench was used to pull the car out of the water. No one was inside.

Police later detained a man who was seen idling in the car by cemetery workers for almost an hour before a passerby noticed the vehicle in the water.

An investigation is ongoing.
