BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — In-person events for Pride Month will return to Boston for the first time since 2019.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu held a press conference Thursday to announce some of the Pride events that will be held in the city next month.
"We’re looking forward to an amazing month of Queer community, connection, and celebration," Mayor Wu said. "We’re looking forward to celebrating on City Hall Plaza June 1st, where after three long years, once again we’ll be able to have an in-person flag raising of the Pride flag."
There will also be a Portraits of Pride Boston photography exhibit at City Hall Plaza opening that same day and running until June 30.
On June 10, the Pride Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. at Copley Square and march all the way to Boston Common.
"It’s going to be better than ever," said Adrianna Boulin, head of Boston Pride for the People. "People are going to feel included. They’re going to be able to access our events, and we’re going to be able to connect and respect each other."
The Pride Festival, an all ages event, will start on Boston Common at 12 p.m. A 21-plus event will be held at City Hall Plaza.
