BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Eminem surprised fans and critics alike with the surprise midnight release of his 11th album Music To Be Murdered By on Friday morning.
"It's your funeral..." the rapper wrote on Twitter.
The 20-song follow-up to 2018's Kamikaze features appearances by Ed Sheeran, Black Thought, Anderson .Paak, and Skylar Grey, among others.
Alongside the album release, Eminem debuted the music video for "Darkness," a brooding anti-gun violence track that tells the tale of a tortured man who turns to guns as an outlet for his loneliness. The song ends with clips of mass shootings across the U.S. and a political message driving fans to vote and "help change gun laws in America."
Music To Be Murdered By, which incorporates the voice of famed Hollywood horror director Alfred Hitchcock between songs, was inspired by the 1958 LP of instrumentals by the same name.
