Massachusetts DPH Attributes Another 30 Deaths To COVID-19

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has reported another 162 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Commonwealth to 104,961.

The DPH also confirmed another 30 coronavirus-related deaths, upping the state's total COVID-death toll to 8,028. Around two-thirds of those deaths have been reported at long-term care facilities.

Several of the Commonwealth's COVID-19 heath metrics have continued to decline over the last 30 days.

Both the 7-day weighted average rate of positive tests, and the 3-day average rate of COVID-deaths have dropped by more than 90 percent in the past month.

According to the DPH, there are currently 102 coronavirus patients in the ICU, and 49 cases are intubated.
