FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Framingham was once home to a General Motors factory that built several million cars.
Now, a new museum is being considered to commemorate that factory.
William Coleman, a retired teacher from UMass Amherst, pitched the idea to City Hall. He wants to start a nonprofit to raise money for the museum.
Steven Robinson worked at the plant for 25 years and likes the idea.
“I think it’s a great idea to keep…so people would know about what that assembly plant was,” Robinson said.
Before its closure in 1989, the GM Assembly Plant built over four million cars in 42 years.
