One Month Left To Register To Vote In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Eligible voters in Massachusetts have just over one month left to register to vote in this year's general election.

At a press conference Friday, Mayor Marty Walsh reminded voters about several upcoming deadlines ahead of Election Day on November 3rd.

"The deadline to register to vote is Saturday, October 24th," said Mayor Walsh. "The early voting period will be from Saturday, October 17th through Friday, October 30th. We have 21 early voting locations, all across the city. Fenway Park is one of them."

If voters are voting by mail, Walsh said they must first complete, sign, and return the prepaid postcard application to the Election Department by 5pm on Wednesday, October 28th.

Walsh said Boston voters who have already requested their mail-in ballot, received it, and filled it out, should return it by mail, or at a dropbox at any of 17 early voting locations in the city.

Alternatively, voters can turn up in-person at an early voting location during the early voting period October 17th through October 30th, or at City Hall on Election Day, November 3rd.

"Keep in mind, if you requested a mail-in ballot, you cannot return your completed ballot to your polling location on Election Day," Walsh said. "Visit http://boston.gov/elections or call 311 for more information on how to participate in this year’s election."
