7-Year-Old Salem Entrepreneur Raising Money For Pride Month

SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A seven-year-old Salem artist has created a new product line to raise money during Pride.

Young Georgia Wren is the CEO of her own business, called Georgia Made This.

"We take some of her drawings and create t-shirts and stickers and pins out of them, and she mostly sells them to Salem tourists," Georgia's father, Chris, told WBZ NewsRadio's Carl Stevens.

Wrenn has been in business since she was just shy of three—that's when she had a lemonade stand fundraiser that raised a couple hundred dollars.

Since then, the young artist has developed her own brand of t-shirts, stickers, and patches.

Now, she has created some pride pins and patches, a rainbow emblazoned with the word "Pride." Proceeds from the sales go to nAGLY, a Salem-based group that supports LGBTQ youth.

"Why do you think that's an important message?" Stevens asked the young entrepreneur.

"Because, so they feel safe here," she answered.

Nagly Executive Director Steve Harrington said Georgia's been an inspiration to many.

"As a seven year old, she already knows a lot more than us adults," he said.
