Sen. Warren Vows To Fight For Ruth Bader-Ginsburg's Seat

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — President Trump said he would like to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat before November, but according to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, that battle has just begun.

Justice Ginsburg, who passed away Friday, said her final wish was to not be replaced until the next president is in office. President Trump is expected to put forth a nominee to fill her seat this week.

Sen. Warren joined thousands of people at a candlelit vigil for Justice Ginsburg outside the U.S. Supreme Court Saturday night.

Standing in front of a banner that read "Honor RBG: No Confirmation Until Inauguration," Warren vowed to make Ginsburg's last wish a reality, and led the crowd in chanting "I will fight."

Warren also called out her Republican colleagues for supporting the President's attempt to fill Ginsburg's seat before the election.

"Mitch McConnell and his henchmen believe that they can ram through a Supreme Court Justice only 45 days from the election," Warren told the crowd in D.C. "What Mitch McConnell does not understand is this fight has just begun."
