FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — What feels like the concert series of the century arrives in Foxborough on Friday night. Taylor Swift will play in front of about 60,000 fans three nights in a row at her sold-out Gillette Stadium shows this weekend.

A titanic crush of traffic arrived in Foxborough on Friday along with all of those fans. Foxborough Police opened parking at 1:30 p.m., an hour early, because traffic for Friday's concert on Route 1 had become so bad. Police released an intensive traffic and parking plan on Friday morning that details exactly where to park and drive.

Foxborough Deputy Police Chief Richard Noonan warned concertgoers not to try to beat the traffic by using local roads. There will be police traffic checkpoints set up downtown to stop non-resident from trying to take shortcuts through the neighborhoods. Residents can get a pass to let them through the checkpoints.

Fans are being warned to get to the stadium for the concerts earlier rather than later. Doors open for each show at 4:30 p.m. and the show starting at 6:30 p.m.

Kraft Sports and Entertainment VP Jim Nolan said not to just show up in the Gillette parking lot without a ticket, as no one would be allowed to park without admission to the show. The phenomenon has happened at other shows on Swift's "Eras" tour, like one in Philadelphia.

One fan told WBZ's James Rojas that they were going to not one, but two of the shows this weekend.
