Elton John recently turned 70 years old. He sat down with Zane Lowe and reflected on the biggest moments from his career.
But it was one moment and his response that has everyone talking - his 2001 Grammys performance of "Stan" with Eminem.
The duet was surrounded by controversy because of Eminem's "violent and homophobic" lyrics.
Well, Elton doesn't agree with that:
“For me, Eminem was never homophobic,” he said in the video below. “I listened to the whole of the ‘Marshall Mathers’ album when I drove to a show in South Hampton and I was floored by it. And I thought how could anyone think this is… he’s just writing about the way things are. Not how he thinks, but the way things are.”
And let's not forget Eminem credited Elton with helping him to stay off drugs some years back.
