Ben Carson, the current Housing and Urban Development Secretary who once said he didn't want to be in Trump's cabinet due to lack of experience, got stuck in an elevator today.
Carson was touring the Courtside Apartments building in Miami when the elevator "became stuck."
Carson and his team were visiting the affordable housing complex for a meeting with residents. After being stuck on the elevator for approximately 15 minutes, Carson's party was rescued by firefighter.
As funny as the situation itself was, it was the Twitter reactions where the real hilarity ensued.
Check out the video and the reactions below...
#Repost from @theshaderoom #PressPlay: Secretary of Housing and Urban Development #BenCarson was stuck in a Miami affordable housing complex elevator for nearly 20 minutes. He is currently on a "listening tour" with former basketball player #AlonzoMourning to meet with developers who would be hit the hardest by #HUD cuts. Maybe, Donnie may want to rethink them now 🤔🤷🏾♀️
The elevator didn't malfunction, Ben Carson just put it to sleep.— Robin Thede (@robinthede) April 12, 2017
They should've left Ben Carson in that elevator a few days to think about HUD cuts. Most wait years for affordable housing. @SecretaryCarson— Cheri for the 197th (@CheriHonkala) April 12, 2017

Ben Carson got more of a taste of life in public housing than he expected Wednesday as he and his wife got stuck in an elevator while touring a project. Carson was stuck for around 20 minutes on Wednesday while wrapping up a visit to Miami’s Courtside Family Apartments with Miami-Dade County Public Housing Director Michael Liu when they and five other people got trapped, The Miami Herald reported Carson also met with ex-Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning, whose nonprofit co-developed the complex. Mourning was late and did not get stuck in the elevator. The HUD secretary seemed amused after being let out of the elevator. At his next stop of the day at another apartment building, he jokingly asked if they had a key for the elevator before getting on, the Herald reported. #hud #bencarson #newyorkpost
