Rocker Chris Cornell, best known as the lead singer of the band Soundgarden, died last night just hours after a sold-out show in Detroit.
He was 52.
Cornell had been on tour with his band and even tweeted celebrating their return to the "Rock City" just before performing.
The cause of death is currently unknown.
The singer-songwriter made his name with the Seattle-based rock band, creating such hits as “Black Hole Sun” and "Spoonman" in the 1990s, before branching out to create Audioslave, where he found renewed success with former members of Rage Against the Machine.
