Tai Verdes On 'American Idol' Rejection: "You Were Completely Right"

Backstage at the Kiss 108 Jingle Ball, Tai Verdes sits down with Billy Costa to talk about his rise to stardom.

As a youth, Tai regularly auditioned for "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent," however, the "A-O-K" singer was rejected every time.

"I was hot garbage when I did it back then," Tai admits. To the judges who turned him away, the 26-year-old confirms, "You were completely right, but now you're wrong."

The singer wasn't discouraged by the rejection.

"I went into my car, and I sang every single day for an hour and a half for 6 months. Then the first thing I recorded was a song called 'Stuck in the Middle' which blew up on TikTok. And now here I am today."
