Here’s everything you need to know about Tuesday’s ceremony:
What time do gates open?
Gates open 2 1/2 hours before first pitch, at 11:35 a.m.
What’s the latest I should arrive at Fenway Park?
The Red Sox request that all fans are in their seats by 12:45 p.m. for the ceremony, which will begin around 1:00 p.m. The forecast calls for a chilly but dry afternoon in Boston.
What will happen during the ceremony?
The Sox will unveil their 2018 championship banner, raise the 2018 championship flag and present rings to members of the organization. Twenty-four of the 25 players currently on the roster and the entire coaching staff were part of the organization last year and will receive rings.
Who’s performing the national anthem? What about “God Bless America”?
Conductor Keith Lockhart will lead the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in a rendition of the national anthem before the game. Springfield native Michelle Brooks Thompson will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch.
Four F-16 jets from the 113th wing of the District of Columbia Air National Guard will participate in a flyover before first pitch.
Are the Red Sox wearing special uniforms?
Yes. The Sox will wear gold-trimmed hats and jerseys for the home opener before going back to their normal jerseys when the homestand resumes Thursday night.
Will the Patriots be in attendance?
The Patriots will be honored for their sixth Super Bowl win before the home opener, though owner Robert Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady are not expected to attend. Among the star players who will be at Fenway for the festivities are recently retired tight end Rob Gronkowski and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
