Red Sox Legend and Boston's favorite slugger, Big Papi was shot in the back in his home country of the Dominican Republic last night. Ortiz was out with a friend at a lounge when a random man walked up to him and began firing. Ortiz was shot in the back in what is believed to be an attempted assassination.
Ortiz was rushed to the hospital where emergency surgery was performed, he is now in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect was arrested after being chased down by patrons at the bar and beaten before the cops arrived.
