Fast-food turned slow?
McDonald's fans can now get traditional table service at the newly revamped Downtown Crossing establishment.
Located at 327 Washington Street, the "modernized" McDonald's will allow consumers to place their order at one of four self-serve kiosks - featuring a large touchscreen display and a credit card reader.
Once you've placed your order, a McDonald's employee will bring your Big Mac right to your table, while old-fashioned customers can still get their happy meal at the counter.
This is the first "McDonald's of the Future" downtown, but there are over 3,000 similar rebrands across the county, with more than 100 stores in New England alone - and another 100 in the works.
Vern Chin, the owner of the Downtown Crossing franchise (and six others in the area), told Boston Business Journal that he has remodeled four restaurants already.
