The U.S. Coast Guard says a woman said she fell off her husband’s 39-foot sailboat sometime Friday afternoon as they were sailing from Newport to East Greenwich.
The woman's husband never seemed to notice that she was no longer on their sailboat, stating that he assumed she was below deck sleeping.
The woman was stranded in the Narragansett Bay for hours, she made her way to Prudence Island where she was discovered by a random person passing by around 4 A.M.
This story gets more bizarre, the wife had mild hypothermia but refused treatment. The husband was found at 2 A.M. in Warwick after he ran his sailboat aground.
No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
