Despite suffering a devastating wild-card upset Saturday, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady insists he will likely be returning to the NFL next season.
Following his team’s season-ending 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Brady addressed the status of his uncertain future with the media, saying that an offseason retirement was “pretty unlikely.”
"I don't want to get too much into the future and stuff," Brady said in a postgame press conference. “I just don't know what's going to happen, and I'm not going to predict it… I don't know what it looks like going forward, so we'll just take it day-by-day... I love playing football, I love playing for this team."
Brady and New England have not yet agreed on a contract extension for next season.
Brady completed 20 of 37 passes for 209 yards against Tennessee Saturday, in what was his earliest postseason exit in the past decade.
