If you're looking to escape the typical weekend experience, you can take a quick drive to a winery! We visited Elk Creek Vineyards in Owenton KY. They offered free wine tours( check the times,) wine tastings and some killer sunny views. They don't grow their own grapes so i didn't look like there was much walking to explore, but i believe there are things in the area you can discover via car.

TIP* I usually prefer a white ( hello Chardonnay Mafia) but most of them were sweet on the menu so i went with a dry merlot.
