Kristin Powers moved up her wedding a month early so that her mother, whom doctors told she only had a week to live, could be a part of the ceremony. The wedding took place in the ICU at Indiana University Health West Hospital.
“She is my best friend, my right hand and my person,” Kristin told PEOPLE about her mother. “It’s easy to get lost in the details of a wedding, but at the end of the day, it’s about commitment to love and I wanted her to be there for this part of my life.”
