Three Years After Brother Dies, She Meets the Stranger Who Got His Face

21-year-old Joshua Aversano was struck and killed by a car before he ever got the chance to live out his dream as a United States marine.

Soon after his death, the organ donor’s family was notified that a man with very similar bone structure was in need of a face transplant. That man was Richard Norris, who was left disfigured after accidentally shooting himself in the face. He had been living as a recluse for 15 years.

The family granted Norris’ request for the face transplant.

Check out Aversano’s sister, Rebekah, meeting Norris, who has her brother’s face, for the first time.
