A meteorologist from KTLA had a potentially embarrassing moment on live TV when she was told to cover up her dress because it was too revealing.
Liberte Chan was mid-broadcast when a phantom arm came from off-screen to hand her a sweater.
"What's going on?" she asked. "You want me to put this on? Why, because it's cold?"
“We’re getting a lot of emails,” a co-worker explained from off-camera:
The incident, joke or not, incited a lot of negative feedback:
Chan revealed later that it was just a joke among co-workers and she wasn’t upset by it.
"I really wasn’t offended. People are kind of spinning it and saying it was sexist. I thought it was just funny," Chan said.

She was, however, upset by what prompted said joke – audience members heavily criticizing her outfit choice on social media. If anything was sexist, it was the fact that audience members would pay so much attention to what she was wearing, versus her career accolades and journalism.
