Target Recalls 500,000 Easter Toys Over Fears of Deadly Ingestion

Target is recalling over half a million Easter- and dinosaur-themed toys due to fears of potential ingestion risk.

According to the packaging, toys could “grow up to 600% its original size” when placed in water. As you can imagine, if ingested, all of that expansion could cause serious internal obstructions and discomfort.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement, “surgery is required to remove the toy from the body, if ingested.”

Recalled products include the Hatch & Grow Easter Eggs, Easter Grow Toys and Hatch Your Own Dino.

Products were sold nationwide between February and March 2017. Consumers with the product are encouraged to take it back to any Target location for a refund.
