Did you get an email today saying someone from your contacts list shared a Google doc with you? You’ll definitely want to take a closer look before you open it!
A number of people have been victims of a phishing attempt (where hackers trick you into clicking fake links) this afternoon.
The subject line of the emails reads “[someone in your contacts] just shared a Google Doc with you,” so it looks official.
If you click the phony link, the email takes you to a page that would allow you to give widespread permission to your Google account, i.e., it would let the bad guys in. You don’t want that.
Google said it’s looking into the attack.
